Meet our Instructors

Matt H Chief Pilot

Matt is a CFI, Advanced Ground, and Instrument Ground Instructor.  He is a third-generation pilot who started flying in northern Nevada in 2007  and has been instructing locally for the last couple years. He is  originally from Richmond, Virginia but has lived in Nevada most of his  life. Outside aviation, Matt has a BS in information technology and  works as computer engineer for a local non-profit public safety  organization. However, he far prefers the view from the flight deck over the view from his office chair. Matt flies part time for the Biggest  Little Flight School and loves helping others achieve their dreams in  aviation. There is nothing more satisfying to him than seeing the smile on a student’s face when they take to the sky for the first time. He is  available for primary flight training, flight reviews, mountain flying  instruction, and other advanced instruction.

His instructional philosophy emphasizes a balanced  approach, combining realistic scenarios with unwavering commitment to  safety. Anthony finds particular fulfillment in teaching maneuvers like  slow flight, stalls, and spins, and he places a strong emphasis on  mountain and night flying.
Beyond aviation, Anthony is an avid options trader and relishes outdoor pursuits such as sailing, tree climbing, and backpacking. He offers training in both primary and  complex flight techniques, and looks forward to assisting students in  reaching their aviation aspirations.

Chris

Chris is a CFI who achieved all her ratings and endorsements flying in Northern Nevada.  She's a journalist by trade, but has always looked to the sky for inspiration.  A few years ago, on assignment, she had the  chance to fly in an Extra 300L during the Reno Air Races.  A couple of barrel rolls made a big impact, and the next day it was a short walk to the local flight school.  She holds two degrees from Northwestern University and worked as a reporter all over the country before finding the Sierra Nevada skies.  Chris is available for discovery flights, private pilot training,  commercial pilot training, CFI training, flight reviews and aircraft checkouts.
