Meet our Instructors

Matt H - Chief Pilot

CFI, AGI, IGI

Matt is a CFI, Advanced Ground, and Instrument Ground Instructor.  He is a third-generation pilot who started flying in northern Nevada in 2007 and has been instructing locally for the last couple years. He is originally from Richmond, Virginia but has lived in Nevada most of his life. Outside aviation, Matt has a BS in information technology and works as computer engineer for a local non-profit public safety organization. However, he far prefers the view from the flight deck over the view from his office chair. Matt flies part time for the Biggest Little Flight School and loves helping others achieve their dreams in aviation. There is nothing more satisfying to him than seeing the smile on a student’s face when they take to the sky for the first time. He is available for primary flight training, flight reviews, mountain flying instruction, and other advanced instruction.

Nolan

CFI, CFI-I, MEI

Nolan is a passionate CFI who enjoys sharing his love of aviation with others! After graduating from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO with a BA in Adventure Education, Nolan spent the next six years being a guide and outdoor educator all over the mountain west, including working expedition backpacking in the High Sierra, ice climbing guiding in the Rockies, and ski guiding in the PNW (including  working with USAF special forces). He then decided to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a pilot obtaining his primary training in the Northwest and his advanced ratings here in Nevada. Since making the leap to aviation, Nolan has not looked back and is excited to bring his  passion about flying to others every day. His favorite topics include  risk management, the human side of decision making, and exactly how  airplanes work. When not flying you can still find him playing in the  mountains!

Nolan is available for discovery  flights, private, instrument, commercial training, BFR's, IPC's, complex  and high performance training.
